HDPARM - The Hard Drive Utility

"If you have an older machine, or even a newer machine with a new ATA/33 or ATA/66 hard drive, did you know that you are probably not even using it to its full capacity? It is true that most motherboard IDE chipsets are not directly supported by the Linux kernel. However, with a little tweaking, you can take full advantage of the new chipsets and even improve overall system performance. Give me the facts hdparm - get/set hard disk parameters (zorka@zorka)::(zorka) (~):hdparm -c3d1m16X66 /dev/hda   the above command, you will basically set the parameters on your hard drive to use the built in functions of...

The Meaning of "RUT"

Big House Rocked and we Won!

Michigan rolled over Bowling Green in a 42 to 7 victory today as Navarre made his debute with the Wolverines. Over 110,000 screaming Michigan fans were in attendance. We were seated in the South end-zone almost on level with the playing field and happened to be mixed in with a couple of BGFU fans. A couple of of BG fans were a little rowdy at the start, but were quited after Michigan quickly sprang 14 points ahead. The funniest part of the game was when the BG cheerleaders jumped up on the rails and did a UMich cheer with the...

Umich and Bolwing Green

ZorKa is making his first trip today to the "Big House" to watch Umich vs Bowling Green. Should be a high scoring game and it isn't predicted to rain so we should have a pretty good time. If you haven't seen the The Big House then you should check it out. Did I mention it is really big?
