AMD releases new 1.33GHz CPU (dual athlon in 2nd quarter)

It seems that AMD has pushed back some of its processors lines. AMD was suppose to release the Palmino processor in the 4 quarter of December but is to announce on today that it is pushing the...... date back on its Palomino line of processors until the 2nd quarter. The Palomino will be introduced for workstation and dual processors with added cache for servers using the 760MP chipset. They also announced we should start seeing Athlon 1GHz cpus in notebooks the next quarter as well. You can read more about the release here.

Ameritech ebill security hole

A security hole with Ameritech's E-bill online bill payment system was discovered today by Tap Internet, a web services firm in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Basically the hole allows other users to alter the url and possibly pull up other records of other users. "By simplying modifying the "stmt" portion of the web address, a user can view statement records for other customers. While there is no direct way to look up information on specific customers, customers' names and phone records are listed on statements, so randomly searching through online statements can still yield extremely personal information. Company's internal ICQ messages posted to web

Have you ever wondered what happens when you send an ICQ message? Well I bet Efront wished they would have read the fine print before using ICQ. Apparently a lot of internal messages were sent back and forth from the CEO using ICQ. Since ICQ logs all of its messages (by default) all of the CEO's messages were saved. Today Ebay and Microsoft announced a partnership in which the two companies are going to merge their technologies together. Basically Ebay is going to use the Microsoft technology to drive its site and Microsoft is going to use Ebay's marketplace technology and incorporate that into new .Net offerings............ Toshiba releases new Linux Server Appliance

Toshiba on Monday launched a new Linux-based, special-purpose server that it hopes will attract business customers and home networking enthusiasts. The SG10 has seven ports to connect PCs and another to connect to a broadband Internet connection. It can house a Web page and host e-mail, and with an upgrade can serve as the hub of 802.11b or Bluetooth wireless networks. The machine, based on a 350MHz AMD K6-2 processor with 64MB of memory, uses the Red Hat 6.1 Linux operating system. You can read more about the release here.
