Power outlets may feed home networking

Imagine the possibilties if you could simply plug your laptop into a wall socket anywhere and be on the network! This technology is here now and will soon be spreading accross the nation by storm. ZorKa gets a new Jeep Liberty

Sorry for not posting much news lately (nobody has sent me any). I have also been real busy with a couple of new sites I have launched, RipleyHigh.Com (for my alma mater), and working on PHP training material. "Two dozen companies today announced formation of the TV Linux Alliance, which will define a standards-based Linux environment for the digital set-top box market. The technology suppliers to cable, satelite, and telecommunications operators have allied to produce Linux standards designed to improve time-to-market and product robustness in the advanced set-top box market. The founding companies are: ACTV, ATI Technologies, Broadcom Corporation, Concurrent Computer Corporation, Conexant, Convergence Integrated Media, DIVA, Excite@Home, iSurfTV, Liberate Technologies, Lineo, MontaVista, Motorola, nCUBE, OpenTV, Pace Micro Technology, Qpass, ReplayTV, STMicroelectronics, Sun Microsystems, TiVo, Trintech, TV Gateway, and WorldGate."

Matrox did what?

"I have to say this is about the coolest hardware related news for Linux in a long time. It turns out that Matrox has released a powerdesk version of their software for Linux. Users running Linux and a Matrox G200, G400, and G450 can now take full advantage of their high-end 2D/3D cards from Matrox. The official announcement can be found on their site here. Sharp to use Linux in PDA

"Sharp announced at the CeBit trade show in Germany that it planned to use the Linux operating system to power a new version of its Zaurus personal digital assistant. Sharp has picked Lineo to bring the plan to fruition. A Lineo representative said Sharp will use Lineo's Embedix version of Linux and rely on Lineo's programming expertise to help tailor it for the Zaurus. More on the article can be found here."
