New York Conspiracy

I am not sure if there is anything to this or not, maybe just a coincidence but I received this from Rob and from Matt today. Basically just do what it says and see if it freaks you out. Then call Microsoft to file a complaint. 1. Go into Microsoft Word. 2. Type in all caps: NYC 3. Make the font size 48 4. Change the font to webdings and read what it says 5. Then change the font again, this time to 'Wingdings' - now it's scary.

U of M Students give benefit concert

If you would like to hear my wife playing the piano during this tribute, you can listen to her version of Amazing Grace from her web stie. It seems the Univ. Of Mich music students are using their talents to raise money for the disaster that struck our nation last week. If you are in the Ann Arbor, MI area, you will definitely want to be on hand for this concert event. Come and listen to up and coming stars share their musical talents while also supporting the relief effort. " On Thursday, September 20, at 8:00 p.m. there will be...

My store was shutdown!

I don't think this story can have ANY more irony in it. It seems that after Chugadie and I created our online store yesterday it has been shutdown by Abdul Popal who works for CafePress.Com. Here is the leter that I received: Before you read the following letter, you may want to read the previous post which will give you the whole story from HERE. Here are the pictures that were posted on the store: Bin Laden Bin Laden Text Bin Laden Big Bin Laden Med Also, if you do a search on Google.Com for the person's name who sent this, you will quickly learn that...

For those still brave enough to fly....

The following comes from Bryan Dotzour who recently took his wife to the Detroit Metro airport: "I just came back from taking my wife to the airport, and I thought I'd warn anyone who is planning on flying." "DEFINITELY plan on getting there AT LEAST 2 hours in advance if not more. I dropped her off at the curb and the NWA ticket line was running down the sidewalks, in both directions. There were armed police with dogs and several security checkpoints. Flights are going of regularly and on-time, but be prepared for a flying experience like nothing you've ever seen. If...

Tribute to the United States

TRIBUTE TO THE UNITED STATES This, from a Canadian newspaper, is worth sharing. America: The Good Neighbor. Widespread but only partial news coverage was given recently to a remarkable editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian television Commentator. What follows is the full text of his trenchant remarks as printed in the Congressional Record: "This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth. Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted out of the debris of war...

Get your Geeky Bin Laden T-Shirt

The only way some of us geeks know how to express our feelings over national tragedies is to speak unix-ese to each other. Stuff like "I wish somebody would pipe whoever did this to /dev/null". In an effort to get our point accross Chugadie and I put up a couple of t-shirts and caps over HERE so the geeks of the nation have a voice. I just thought I would mention that our intention is not to "get rich" or "make money" from the devistating tragedy. Update! There has been a development on this store we opened. Read this story. FYI, we opened...

Ads and Albums wishing they were never published now

It seems that a few national ads or rap albums were actually released before our Nation was attacked. For instance, check out the two following urls: a Rap Album and an Ad. Both of these were published before our Nation was attacked. The pictures speak for themselves, all I can say is wow!

Amazon Donation Page for National Tragedy

If you want to help the Red Cross in a financial way to assist the people in our national tragedy head over to Amazon Donation Page. Updated Yahoo is also allowing people to make direct payments to assist in the clean-up efforts. Updated 9/13/01 Paypal also has a fund set up: here. Zorka's Q3F Server Re-launches

For all of you Quake fans who just can't seem to get enough of QIII, I have re-launched my Q3F server. I also decided to add some stats on the side of the site. Now we know when someone else is playing on the server as well as provide a visual so we can see what is going on. Basically what is on the side in the "Q3F Status" box is the current version on Q3F we are running (just so you know if you have problems connecting), the Map Name the server is currently running, the score of each...

Brick and Mortar web sites

I was reading an article in the NY Times today about how brick and mortar companies are starting to look at the validity of their sites. The basic idea is that retailers that judge the success of their web site by its profitability may be missing the point. I know for one, I have spent many hours researching products on retailer web sites before hitting the stores. A recent example is when I purchased my home entertainment center awhile back. I spent a couple of weeks off and on browsing manufacturers, reading reviews, checking prices at several places, checking availability...
