New PHP Book by Rasmus from O’reilly

I was on the Internet today talking to Rasmus, the creator of PHP and he was talking about his new book. I managed to get a few juicy nuggets out of him about the book and who it is intended for. Create your own language, create your own book. That seems to be the moto for Rasmus these days. He recently...

Rules

About The Rules

These rules are meant to be more fun than serious, but there are a lot of truths in these rules and some very serious. Everyone is expected to be respectful of not only others but also their property (especially if you are a guest on that person’s boat). Fighting, tempers, bickering, etc just isn’t allowed. Everyone is here to have a good time and everyone is responsible for everyone else.

With that said, here are some rules we’ve put together over the years to help *guide* you along your way.

  1. NO COMPLAINING.  If you don’t like something then you should have either A) organized it B) done it yourself C) cooked it or D) helped
  2. No wussasauruses  allowed, man up and Git ‘R Done!
  3. Be responsible.
  4. Anyone going to town MUST check in to get an order for supplies.
  5. If you don’t get up to go fishing in the morning, we expect you to spend your alone time cleaning up the suite or camp site.
  6. Also, if you don’t get up to go fishing in the morning, do not call us asking us to come back and pick you up. You had your chance when we left in the morning. We’ll come back when the fish stop biting.
  7. Keith is not your Mother.  Clean up after yourself.  Feed yourself when you get hungry.
  8. When someone is doing something like cooking or cleaning help and pitch in. This isn’t your time to sit back like a sorority girl with someone waiting on you hand and foot.
  9. Anyone picking, or starting a fight will be asked to leave no questions asked. See rules #1, #2 and #3.
  10. If you break the law because you were stupid you are on your own. You got in jail by yourself, you can find a way to get yourself out. See rule #3.
  11. If you don’t like the food then see rules #1, #2, #8.
  12. Wreckless driving of a boat while around other boats WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Boat captains are expected to follow all boating rules and make sure their boats are coast guard legal.
  13. Those riding on boats that are not rented are expected to cover all fuel and other operational costs of the boat. This *shouldn’t* be a rule but some people may not be aware of common boating courtesy. The boat owner bought the thing, paid for it, hauled it up there, paid for insurance, storage fees, service, gear,  maintenance etc. If you don’t like this rule see rule #1.
  14. Everyone is supposed to arrive on Wednesday and leave the following Monday. Those leaving early for any reason must pay an additional $25 clean up fee.
