I signed up for a Twitter account this morning so you can keep up with what is happening in semi real-time as it happens. This is of course assuming I keep sending text messages to it and the new shiny penny factor doesn’t wear off. I figured what the heck, go ahead and sign up now before my desired login account is taken. The link to my Twitter account is http://twitter.com/keithelder .
Today I’m out of the office so if you want to know what I’m up to today there you go. Right now I’m friendless on the Twitter site and it appears that no one has any love for The Elder. I need friends. If you Twitter and aren’t a stalker, let’s friend up!
For your RSS pleasure I created a feed burner URL of the Twitter Rss here http://feeds.feedburner.com/keitheldertwitter .
Twitter – How To Explain It, Why Those of You Not Using it Should, How It Has Changed
I usually turn twitter on for conferences or a night of going out on the town where friends might be around too.
Other than that, it doesn’t get much use from me.
I don’t really see the value in it either. It just seems like a “fun” thing to do, but I am already having trouble reminding myself to post an update or finding the time to do so. As Keith mentioned, I can easily see my interest diminishing after the new factor wears off.
On the Scoble note, it is refreshing to find others that seem to share my opinion. I wish I could convince the network admin to completley block access to his site.
Twitter AIM Bot Hates Me
🙂 That’s been done for a while now, but I can’t say that I didn’t do it before I already had the names “Twitter”, “Facebook”, “PodTech”, “Second Life”, “John Edwards”, and “TechMeme” permamently taintied in my mind due to overexposure…
Honestly I don’t know the true value of it right now either. As far as Scoble tainting your views do like I did and just remove him from your RSS feeds. Life is now back to normal!
I dunno if I see the value of Twitter just yet… I’ll wait for The Elder to give me some good examples of why I should use it… These days, it seems that I get turned off on anything that Scoble is blogging ad naseum about just because Scoble is blogging about it…
