Ahhhhh Linux
That sweet smell of plastic, gold, copper, and bunch of Hackers. It’s a sweet smell that I have come to love over the years. If you have never experienced the thrill and joy of a Linux command prompt, sit back and we’ll discover some of the basics of commanding a full blown Linux box all by ourselves. We will also touch on some basic and essential tools that are standard while using the Linux Operating System as well as touch on some concepts that will hopefully help the reader to better understand why things are the way they are.

The first release of PHP-GTK is now available. PHP-GTK is a PHP extension that provides an object-oriented interface to GTK+ toolkit and enables you to write client-side cross-platform GUI applications. For more information, visit gtk.php.net.

Recently Microsoft released an article that free software, or software released under the GNU GPL was against the American Way. Of course this is ridiculous, however it is nice to see that Richard Stallman (one of the biggest voices of open source software) stood up with a rebuttle to the foo by Microsoft. Stallman’s article can be read here. If you haven’t heard what Stallman says about Free Software and Open Source Software, this is a good article that will break you into start hating Microsoft as much as the next guy.
