Rut sent me this link for those of you who want to obtain a cheap Beowulf linux cluster I found the perfect solution. Check out Pc Surplus. They are offering a “10 Pack” of P166 computers to use with as a linux cluster. It raises the question: If you spent a $1,000.00 on a new system today or clustered these 10, which would be faster?

It seems that Handspring is going to be announcing two new hand helds this coming Monday. Supposedly more power and memory are the key ingredients. Although I couldn’t find anything on their site about what they will be offering you can read more on the aritcle here. Havnig owned a Visor Deluxe for well over a year now my wishes are as follows:
- More Memory
- Color Screen
- Multiple springboard module slots

It usually takes some kind of study or something like that before somebody in the media wakes up and gets a clue. It seems somebody finally did one of these reports that confirms what I have been saying for the past 3 years. You can take a peek at the article here. Now where did I put that penguin?

As most Americans I hate paying bills. Paying bills just get in the way of everyday life it seems and there is never a good time to do them. I have been a long time user of Yahoo’s Bill Pay Services. It is ok for most things. You can schedule reoccuring payments which come straight from your checking account and even set reminders. Some of the major credit card holders and utility services even offer online bills (which means you don’t even get a bill in the mail). Although this sounds fine and dandy I started investigating my bank’s online bill paying services. After a little bit of investigation I decided to not use their services. Below is the letter I sent them in regards to their bill pay services.

If you haven’t read or heard about the CodeRed virus that affected Microsoft IIS servers this past week I have no idea what you do with your free time. Word about this virus spreading around is everywhere. The only good thing that is coming out of this is some companies are realizing they cannot afford to rest their company’s information on Microsoft products.
