In this episode we sat down shortly after SQL Server 2008 R2 was released to MSDN to discuss this major update for SQL Server. With this release, SQL Server is moving away from being just a database and starting to be an information platform. New features like StreamInsight, improved reports and updated BI tools make this a release that is very exciting for all developer in the community.

It provides a way to break down data silos and increase the shared value of data by creating an ecosystem in which data consumers can interoperate with data producers in a way that is far more powerful than currently possible, enabling more applications to make sense of a broader set of data.
