Microsoft’s XP slated for October 29th

Acording to Yahoo, Microsoft has announced its plans to release Windows XP October 29th of this year. There will be two versions of XP, one for home and one for professional use. The home version will replace windows 98 and ME while the professional version will replace NT and 2000 (pretty obvious I know). Unless you have been under a rock, you know that PC sales are down, approximately 9.5 percent. The PC manufacturers, as always, are hoping the new release will increase sales in the third quarter. We (meaning the computer educated) know this will not be the case but they it seems the PC manufacturers still haven’t learned!
