Toshiba on Monday launched a new Linux-based, special-purpose server that it hopes will attract business customers and home networking enthusiasts. The SG10 has seven ports to connect PCs and another to connect to a broadband Internet connection. It can house a Web page and host e-mail, and with an upgrade can serve as the hub of 802.11b or Bluetooth wireless networks. The machine, based on a 350MHz AMD K6-2 processor with 64MB of memory, uses the Red Hat 6.1 Linux operating system. You can read more about the release here.

Fireworks, cheerleaders, and a WWF theme are just a few of the things that are different about XFL vs NFL. If you didn’t tune in Saturday night to the XFL then you missed a real treat. The XFL brings us a few new rules to the game of football. I remember that one of the biggest things to get used to were the new sounds and the new “look”. The XFL interviews players right after they make a big play during the game and you can here all of the calls from the line as well as what the coaches say to players. It is a different twist for sure. Another thing that is different are the camera angles. At first I found them a little hard to get used to. If you watch 20 something years of football you get used to the same shots right?

Well, as you can see, I haven’t done much work to this page for a couple of months now. I have been busy working on BEOS as well as playing a lot of Quake III, UT, Heroes3, and Heavy Gear II on Linux since I got a Voodoo3 3000 video card. So, basically I have devoted a lot of time to blowing things up instead of coding. However, playing Quake doesn’t pay the bills around here so I am back at it now so stay tuned for some updates.
