Just arrived back in A2 tonight after what turned out to be a very bad vacation due to a lot of car trouble. More on that later in the week though. Right now I have to remember how to type again and how to turn on my computer. Being away from these things a week will kill you!
Vacation is coming along quite nicely so far. We ran into a snag with the car again however this time we are going to “nip it in the bud” as they say back home. We are suppose to be traveling to Ripley today and leaving the car here to get fixed (new head gasket) and then come back to Hattiesburg Saturday and pick the car up to head back to A2.
Ellen and I went and watched two movies this weekend! It just worked out that way. The first one we saw as Hollow Man. I still don’t really know what to say about it. The effects were great but we’ve come to expect that nowadays. Not really a plot through most of the movie and the ending was rather bad. A typical horry story ending, the guy sneaks up from behind, the girl saves the day, the villan dies.
The Klumps on the other hand is a different story. Although the movie steered a little away from something “that could actually happen” Eddie Murphy was great. The “Grandma” he plays is really funny. Overall it was funny. Ellen really liked “The Klumps” so she gives it a thumbs up.
Today was deemed creativity day. Since I don’t get to express myself in my music much these days I have resorted to graphics. Just another way to share all of this goodness inside. You will notice on the top left of the page that I broke down and finally made a logo for the site. I was also cruising Intersted1’s home page and found a screen shot of a desktop background he made, so I of course had to make one to, you can view my latest desktop creation HERE. I could say that “…it is a reflection of my inner soul” but for those that know me would laugh their butt off, however the truth of the matter is I had no idea where I was going when I started, just knew that THE GIMP could get me there.
Well, I finally got true type fonts working in X-windows. Really does make a difference. I went out to google.com and found a bunch of free fonts to add to my collection. Also on a side note, if you haven’t played with “The Gimp 1.1 (pre-release 1.2)” I highly recommend it. A lot of new features have been added to it making life a lot easier. Not to mention the true type fonts really make it (for me) on par with photoshop.
