I get this question a lot from windows users: “Can windows read files from a linux file system?”. It turns out that now you can thanks to John Newbigin’s Explore2fs for windows. Here is a screen shot of it for you non-believers out there:

It seems former CEO of MP3.Com, Michael Robertson, believes his new product is going to change the face of computing. His idea is to build a combination OS of Linux and Windows called Lindows.

Evolution not ready for prime time

I spent the better part of today trying to get Evolution, the up and coming contact manager/email client for Linux, to work with my Palm as well as test its contact manager skills. Does it work? Almost. Could it be better? Yes.

Opera 5.0 to ship for Linux

It looks like the Opera browser version 5.0 is going to released for Linux next week. A public beta has been available for sometime but Opera seems to think it is ready for prime time and the $39.00 price tag that goes along with it. If you wish to try on a copy you can grab it here. Anyone out there ever use this browser? Let us know?

Microsoft’s XP slated for October 29th

Acording to Yahoo, Microsoft has announced its plans to release Windows XP October 29th of this year. There will be two versions of XP, one for home and one for professional use.
