In a tounge and cheek move, AMD released its newest mobile processors in 850MHz, 900MHz, 950MHz, and 1000MHz name Athlon 4. AMD hopes that by naming the processors “4” (forget 2 and 3) it will increase its market share against Intel who isn’t scheduled to release a mobile version of the Pentium 4 processor until 2002.

Opera 5.0 to ship for Linux

It looks like the Opera browser version 5.0 is going to released for Linux next week. A public beta has been available for sometime but Opera seems to think it is ready for prime time and the $39.00 price tag that goes along with it. If you wish to try on a copy you can grab it here. Anyone out there ever use this browser? Let us know?
Microsoft’s XP slated for October 29th

Acording to Yahoo, Microsoft has announced its plans to release Windows XP October 29th of this year. There will be two versions of XP, one for home and one for professional use.
